elec expo, EneR Event & Tronica Expo 2012 with an ever higher quality of trade visitors

3,312 visitors of 42 countries have discussed business with 138 exhibitors

elec expo, EneR Event & Tronica Expo 2012, organised under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, has closed its doors on 20 October 2012 after 4 days of professional meetings and debates bringing together 3,312 professional visitors of 42 countries and 138 exhibitors of 9 countries. Exhibitors praised the even higher quality of the trade visitors.

The opening ceremony had been honored by the presence of 3 Moroccan ministries (energy, industry and housing), the top management of FENELEC and representatives of UBIFRANCE as well as 52 African buyers from 14 countries, amongst them energy ministers, managing directors and prominent buyers from the public and private sector.

The event, organised by FENELEC, the Moroccan Federation of Electricity, Electronics and Renewable Energies, in close cooperation with the German trade fair specialists fairtrade and their Moroccan partners Forum 7, confirmed its status as Morocco’s leading energy and industrial event as well as one of the leading events in Africa.

A major meeting point between producers and exporters!

Mr Youssef Tagmouti, President FENELEC:

France - Guest of Honor in 2012 



France being the Guest of Honor in 2012, Ubifrance - the French Agency for International Development in cooperation with CFCIM, organised a Pavillon France, for the second consecutive time.

“We are proud that France is the Guest of Honor in 2012. For the for the second consecutive year UBIFRANCE - the French Agency for International Development, together with the CFCIM organises the French pavilion at elec expo & EneR Event in Morocco. 12 companies in 2011 and even 23 in this year, this clearly figures out the importance of the Moroccan market for our companies. France still is the first trading partner and investor of Morocco. We will continue to sustainable maintain the companies in the field of electricity and renewable energies for this can’t-miss event.”

The conference FENELEC - UBIFRANCE had been organised with the title « Les énergies renouvelables, sources d’avenir pour la production d‘électricité ». Featuring top-level speakers of 3 Moroccan ministries (energy, industry and housing), FENELEC, UBIFRANCE, Masen, SIE, PROPARCO, La COFACE, ADEREE, ONEE, IRESEN, SER and IMEDER.


elec expo 2012 – The 7th International Electricity, Lighting, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Automation Trade Fair

The figures on electro technology imports and exports reflect the briskly rising exchange especially in this sector. Moroccan producers have increased their exports of electro-technology by 18% in 2011, to 2.249 billion Euros, compared to 1.906 billion Euros in 2010 and 1.470 billion Euros in 2009. In the same period, Moroccan imports of electro-technology rose by 2% to 2.990 billion Euros in 2011, after 2.931 billion Euros in 2010 and 2.524 billion Euros in 2009. France, China, Spain, Germany and Italy are the major supplier countries.

EneR Event 2012 - The 2nd International Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Trade Fair

According to the Ernst & Young study "Renewable energy country attractiveness indices" of February 2012, Morocco attracts important investments in the renewable energy sector, especially for solar and for wind. On a global scale Morocco is ranked No. 9 together with France in solar, and No. 31 in wind. "Morocco being the only country linked to the European network has the opportunity to develop from an energy importing to an energy exporting country.”

New: Tronica Expo 2012 - The 1st International Trade Fair for Electronic Components, Systems and Applications

 

According to the Moroccan Agency of Investment and Development (AMDI), Morocco becomes ever more important as a hub for integrated subcontractors outsourcing major parts of their operations to the Kingdom. This is especially true for subcontractors responsible for the design, industrialisation and the purchase of raw materials and components. Morocco’s electronics‘ industry has a bright future. Already in 2010, Morocco has exported electronic components with a volume of 671.9 million Euro. At the same time Morocco imported electronic components worth 311.4 million Euro. (ZVEI). One of Fenelec’s five member-associations being ASEL-The Moroccan Association of the Electronics’ Sector, their 43 members will heavily contribute to the success of Tronica Expo.


Full institutional backing. The event enjoys the official support of the Moroccan Ministry of Energy and Mines, Water and Environment, of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and New Technologies and of the Ministry of Building, Urban Development and Regional Planning. On an African dimension, elec expo, EneR Event & Tronica Expo once again enjoy the exclusive support of CAFELEC - The African Electricity Confederation, the Casablanca-based umbrella organisation of six African electricity federations from Cameroon, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Mali, Morocco and Senegal.

Hosted Buyers’ Program for 50+ prominent buyers from Africa. The event enjoys the benefits of a Hosted Buyers’ Program, which FENELEC realises in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Trade, Maroc Exhibitions and Maroc Export, the governmental Moroccan Center for Export Promotion. A budget covering the expenses for travel and accommodation was allocated to invite more than fifty African buyers of fourteen countries, both public and private buyers.
